Terms of Service

The short version
Important: Ta Vie Finance does not connect to banks, provide financial advice, or make transactions on your behalf. It is a manual record-keeping tool only.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Ta Vie Finance ("the Service," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated by email or in-app notification before they take effect. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. What Ta Vie Finance Is
Ta Vie Finance is a personal budgeting application that allows you to:
- Track expenses and income manually
- Create and manage budget categories
- Set up savings and debt management buckets
- View spending analytics and summaries
- Export your financial data
Ta Vie Finance is not a bank, financial institution, investment advisor, or payment processor. We do not hold funds or process payments on your behalf. Premium users may optionally connect a bank account via Plaid for read-only transaction syncing — we never initiate transfers.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Ta Vie Finance. If you are located in the European Economic Area, you must be at least 16 years old, or have verifiable parental consent. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these age requirements.
You must provide accurate information when creating your account. Accounts created with false information may be terminated.
4. Your Account
Creating an account
To use Ta Vie Finance, you must create an account with a valid email address, name, and password. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information.
Account security
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access at taviefinanceapp@gmail.com
We will never ask you for your password by email. Do not share your password with anyone.
One account per person
Accounts are for individual personal use. You may not create accounts on behalf of others without their knowledge, share accounts between multiple people, or create multiple accounts to circumvent any restrictions.
5. Acceptable Use
Permitted uses
- Using Ta Vie Finance for your own personal budgeting and financial tracking
- Entering your own financial data
- Exporting your data at any time
Prohibited uses
You may not use Ta Vie Finance to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
- Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful files
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.
6. Your Data
You own all financial data you enter into Ta Vie Finance. We make no claim of ownership over your budgets, expenses, income records, or any other data you create.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of data you enter and for any financial decisions you make based on information in the app.
You can export your data at any time using the CSV export feature. You can request full account deletion by contacting taviefinanceapp@gmail.com.

7. Our Intellectual Property
Ta Vie Finance, including its name, logo, design, code, and content (excluding your data), is owned by Ta Vie Finance and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our Service without our express written permission.
8. Pricing and Payments
Ta Vie Finance offers a free tier with no time limit and an optional Premium subscription.
The free tier includes manual expense tracking, budget categories, safe-to-spend calculations, basic analytics, and CSV export. These features will remain free.
Premium is $6.99 per month and includes bank sync via Plaid, automatic transaction import, budget alerts via push notification, unlimited savings buckets, and recurring transactions.
Full subscription terms, including auto-renewal, cancellation, price change, and refund policy, are described in Section 9 "Premium Subscription and Auto-Renewal" below.
9. Premium Subscription and Auto-Renewal
Ta Vie Finance offers a Premium subscription at $6.99 per month, billed on a recurring monthly basis. By subscribing, you authorize us — through Apple (for iOS users) or Stripe (for web users) — to charge your payment method the subscription fee at the start of each billing period.
Auto-Renewal. Your subscription automatically renews each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your payment method will be charged within 24 hours before the renewal date.
Managing and Canceling Your Subscription.
- On iOS: Manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings under Subscriptions.
- On the web: Manage or cancel your subscription through the customer portal, accessible from Settings in the app.
If you cancel, you will continue to have access to Premium features until the end of your current billing period. We do not prorate or refund partial months.
Price Changes. We may change the subscription price from time to time. Existing subscribers will not be affected by future price increases; your current rate will be preserved as long as your subscription remains active and uninterrupted.
Free Trials. Ta Vie Finance does not offer free trials at this time. The free tier of the app is available to all users with no time limit.
10. Bank Account Connection
The Premium tier includes the ability to connect your bank account through Plaid, a third-party service. When you connect an account:
- You provide your banking credentials directly to Plaid. Ta Vie Finance never receives or stores your banking username or password.
- Plaid provides us with account balances and transaction history, which we display in the app.
- You authorize Ta Vie Finance and Plaid to access your financial account information for the purpose of providing the app's bank sync features.
- You may disconnect a bank account at any time from Settings → Banking. Disconnecting immediately stops the syncing of new transactions.
- Your use of Plaid is governed by Plaid's own terms and privacy policy, available at plaid.com.
The bank sync feature is read-only. Ta Vie Finance does not initiate, facilitate, or process payments from your bank accounts.
11. No Financial Advice
Ta Vie Finance is not a financial advisor and does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. The app is a tool to organize information you provide. It does not recommend investments, predict outcomes, or guarantee the achievement of any financial goal. For financial decisions, consult a qualified and licensed professional.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
Ta Vie Finance is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be:
- Uninterrupted or error-free
- Free from bugs, viruses, or other harmful components
- Accurate, complete, or current at all times
- Fit for any particular purpose
We make no guarantee that using Ta Vie Finance will help you achieve any financial outcome. You use the Service at your own risk.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ta Vie Finance and its owners, operators, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or financial losses arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, for free users, is $0).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Ta Vie Finance harmless from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your use of the Service, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
15. Termination
By you: You may stop using the Service at any time. To permanently delete your account and all associated data, email taviefinanceapp@gmail.com with the subject line "Delete My Account." We will complete the deletion within 30 days.
By us: We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or if we believe your use poses a risk to our systems or other users. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance except where immediate termination is necessary for security reasons.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will continue to apply.
16. Dispute Resolution
If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first at taviefinanceapp@gmail.com. We are committed to resolving issues informally and will respond within 30 days.
If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, any legal action shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Ta Vie Finance operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Ta Vie Finance with respect to the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
19. Apple App Store Users
If you downloaded Ta Vie Finance from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:
- This agreement is between you and Ta Vie Finance, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its contents.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and may enforce it against you.
Refunds. Refunds for subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's refund policy. Refunds for subscriptions purchased through the web (Stripe) are subject to our policy: we do not offer refunds for partial months of service.
